Relaxing stay
We stayed in Jasmine cottage and had a lovely relaxing time. The location was great, very peaceful with lots of nice walks. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. There is a very big fire which was just lovely to sit by and relax.A great place to relax and unwind.
Very comfortable rural style townhouse
The 1 bedroom townhouse was spacious, very comfortable and easy parking. Restaurants are 5-10 mins drive away on local country roads. We went on the North Yorkshire Moors railway which was a lot of fun. The Blackbull Inn was a great meal.
2 nights in Primrose Cottage.
Very pleasent location and very comfortable, warm cottage. 5 mins from shop (Spar) and petrol station, 10 mins from Pickering. Well equipped, good courtyard parking (a little tricky on the gravel with a heavily loaded motorcycle), we would recomend and may well use again. Very nice.
Brilliant
Couldn't be happy with the cottage it was clean and comfortable just what a couple need. The surrounding areas were brilliant for walking in and if like us you have 2 dog's that love water the river was near as well. Hopefully we will be back later this month fingers crossed.
Picturesque and peaceful
A lovely spot and cottage for a few night’s stay just outside the village of Cropton. Would love to come back!
Great peaceful location in Yorkshire moors
Lovely cottage very well equippedin a beautiful location.Great paddock/field with access to the river to get dog out.
Brilliant
We had a fabulous holiday at Beckhouse Cottages. The cottages are well equipped and well looked after. Andrew and Julie are very helpful and welcoming. The setting is great with good access to everything the area has to offer. We will be back. Thank you
Fabulous
Staying at Beckhouse Cottages was as usual a fantastic experience Our 8th time staying here & never been disappointed The kids love it A perfect setting for a week off exploring North Yorkshire &!The Moors. We will definitely make it 9 and possibly more.
Fabulous cottage
Just had a fabulous 4 night stay at Jasmine cottage with my mum and my dog. Great location - we visited nearby Pickering, Hutton le hole and Thornton le Dale. The weather was scorching hot so we also went across the moors to Whitby, Filey and Runswickbay. The cottage itself had everything we needed. Comfy sofas, beds andgood shower. Very friendly and helpful hosts. We loved the walk from the cottage to the river and watching the horses, hens, peacocks and Jack the goat. Already planning to come back next year.
Lovely cottage dovecote
This is my 2nd stay at Beckhouse cottages 1st time I stated in primrose which we loved. 2nd occasion I needed something bigger as there was 5 of us including 3 kid. Dovecoate has its own allocated parking large reception room with a huge table and chairs, big lounge with another table and chairs and a kitchen up a small set of steps where there also a downstairs loo. I slept in the room with the 3 single beds along with the 2 teenagers beds were really comfy lovely en suite. Mum and niece had the master the bedroom which was huge lovely bathroom with a free standing bath shame there was no plug so couldn't use the bath. the bedroom also has french doors that opens up onto the courtyard. Nice to see Jack the resident Goat again plus the horses chickens etc. the cottages are quite remote you cant walk to the shop but the lovely village of pickering is only 10 mins drive, helmsley is lovely to visit 25 mins away we also visited whitby and scarborough. the cottages are in a lovely quiet location you will be woken by the resident cockerel thou. will hopefully return again and try a different cottage
Perfect location for a family going to Flamingo Land
I usually book somewhere in Scarborough when going to Flamingo Land. This place is perfect as it’s a 15 minute drive.Very friendly owners and the cottages are stunning. Will definitely book again
Our Stay
The cottage was lovely fully accessible for my disabled husband and brother. Andrew allowed us to park the cars at the side of Jasmine Cottage which made our stay so much easier. The farm was very quiet peaceful and extremely provate.
Great stay
Really enjoyed our stay in Cowslip Cottage, had everything we needed, dog friendly with fields at rear to roam, with a stream to paddle in. Saw a few deer and a sparrowhawk, plus all the resident peacocks, chickens, horses and the old goat! Would definitely recommend
Beautiful cottage, great location
Family with older children isn’t an option but more accurate for us!Nice welcome from Andrew on arrival who showed us to the cottage.Cottage (dovecote) was beautiful- a home from home with everything we needed. Very peaceful place with super comfortable beds and a great shower! It has own parking area and private yard to sit out. Kids loved the piano (and WiFi!). Great location for exploring.
Brilliant
This was a fantastic base to go on days out. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything you need. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The double en-suite the other with 2 single beds with shower room opposite. We were left to our own devises but the owners were on hand if needed. I would definitely recommend these cottages and would go back again.
Amazing weekend
The cottage was beautiful and the surrounding area was absolutely fantastic lovely walks with dog to river and all the animals around the cottages and land that we could meet was wonderfulGet yourselves booked hosts are lovely people would highly recommend
excellent
Just had 2 nights at Cleveland Bay cottage with my daughter and her golden retriever. It was perfect for our needs. Spacious and comfortable and very clean. It was great to have 2 bathrooms and it had great grounds for walking the dog. We would definitely stay again.
Perfect base for exploring Yorkshire
We travelled as a family with 2 small children and grandparents, cowslip cottage was perfect. The owner welcomed us and gave us a high chair for the baby then we were given total privacy. Enough room for all 7 adults (and dogs). We used the kitchen which had all the equipment we needed for breakfast and dinner, the only thing was the table only had 6 chairs. It was certainly better than the pictures. The outdoor space was large enough for us to all sit out in the nice weather and in the days you were close enough to everything to explore the area. We will be returning in the future.
Superb setting lovely hosts
We visited beckhouse cottages as an extended family over the jubilee weekend, beautiful well equipped cottages, hosts very friendly, welcoming, and very helpful, dog n child friendly, had the best stay wandering the 40+accres of private land and river, would highly recommend and will be returning
Fabulous break
We were incredibly impressed by Beckhouse Cottages and will definitely be returning. The cottage itself was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely, relaxing break but the best thing about the holiday was the beautiful surroundings. On arrival, Raymond told us about a short walk down to the river which we tried the first morning and went back to every day of our stay. Our daughter loved paddling in the crystal clear water and running in the long grass then watching the horses, goat, chickens and doves in the yard. It was idyllic and by far our favourite part of the holiday. Thanks for a fabulous stay!
Charming stay
Very nice cottage. Friendly staff.
Lovely
Sweet little cottage. Well equipped. Log burner was gorgeous. Raymond was super friendly and welcoming and attentive when we had questions. Our bed wasn't the most comfortable and a wee bit squeaky! I thought the living space was lacking a rug..the floor was cold.We had a lovely stay and would definitely return and recommend 🙂
Fantastic
Well what to say about Beck House Farm and Cottages...We arrived in beautiful Cropton and that's where things started to change. As you come out of the village and start to descend down the valley you get the sense that you are about to experience something really special. We entered the farm entrance and wow what an amazing sight, the centrepiece being the Farm House and surrounding cottages. We were greeted by Andrew who took us on a guided tour of the estate, 47 acres of lush countryside with its own river packed full of trout (in the summer). If you like wildlife then this is the place to be, chickens, ducks, horses, dogs (Jarvis was my favourite) and all sorts of birds adorn this idyllic place.Andrew showed us to our cottage 'Jasmine', a two bed spacious and charming building, very private with views over the land beyond where horses were grazing. The spacious living room felt relaxing straight away, and the wood burning fire and fireplace was the focal point of the room with beamed ceilings and and open plan fully fitted kitchen, the two bedrooms were a good size and each with an en-suit bathroom. There was plenty of space and everything that we needed for our time away.Later Julie joined us and introduced herself and we had a BBQ which was excellent and great fun, meeting new friends. Raymond and his wife Claire look after the estate and they were fantastic, catering to our every need, they were on-hand if we needed anything at all. On the first night Ray lit the wood burner for us and that heated the entire cottage, the wood cracking away creating the perfect cosy country cottage atmosphere. In the immediate area of Back House there are numerous country walks and villages to visit and there is a co-op 10 mins away by car to take in any provisions. We went for Sunday lunch at the Blacksmiths Arms in Lastingham (it was busy so I'd recommend booking) and the food was really good. All in all, if you are looking for that special countryside experience in an amazing setting Beck House Farm will not disappoint. Its a really special place to be.Thanks to Andrew, Julie, Ray, Claire and the lads for such a wonderful time we'll definately be back.Steve & Elaine :)
Fantastic!
We stayed at Dovecote for 3 nights and had a great time - Andrew was very welcoming and friendly - we had a couple of small issues which he sorted out for us stright away. We were very impressed by the accomodation which was also very comfortable - also surounded by beautiful countryside! We would definitely come to stay at Dovecote again - Thanks Andrew!
Excellent
We stayed in the Cleveland cottage it was lovely and clean. We loved the way the room was set out it was very spacious for us and the dogs.
Awesome
Another brilliant stay! We got to see lots of Yorkshire and we always looked forward to coming back to our lovely little cottage. Andrew, Julie and Team were wonderful as usual! See you again soon.
Great
Wonderful timeBrilliant
Good accommodation
Will recommend staying here. It's near enough to Pickering, but nice and quiet out in the country. The accommodation we stayed in (Primrose) was clean and plenty of space, large bathroom, and everything you would need in the kitchen. We had a slight problem with the heating but this was soon fixed by a plumber the following morning, and the owner supplied a heater that evening.Near enough to the local pub for an evening meal without travelling into Pickering.
Great place to stay
Cottage we gad was well appointed had everything we needed, great for dogs. Excellent location for North Yorks Moors and the coast. Staff very helpful. Highly recommend.
Restful, beautiful countryside, friendly people.
We are so pleased that we stayed with Andrew and Julie in one of their cottages. It was clean, with a good bed and quiet. The countryside is truly "God's own Country" and we fell in love with the area.Would love to return.
Excellent
We have been coming to Beckhouse Cottages for a number of years and I have to say i guess we will be coming for many more. The whole set up is just fantastic, the management and staff couldn’t have been more helpful.I would recommend Beckhouse to anyone who just wants a relaxing and carefree holiday
Absolutely amazing find
Stayed here for a long weekend in the Daisy cottage, everything was just perfect. The cottage was so clean, and had tge luxury of a washing machine and dish washer. They only thing if it is a complaint is that the cottage next to us parked close to our little sitting out spot and slightly invaded our space, but apart from that everything was just perfect
Happy
We were delighted with our accommodation, very clean and comfortable and a good base for visiting Pickering, York, Scarborough and Whitby. We would certainly stay again should we return to Yorkshire.
Relax in the Moors
Cleveland Bay cottage was a clean comfortable place to stay. Attention to detail was excellent and Covid awareness was reassuringly good. The team at Beckhouse cottages were friendly and helpful. We took our dog with us- there was lots of space to walk her and even a dog poo bin was provided.- we would definitely return!Beckhouse Cottages was a good base for exploring the area. During our week, we visited Helmsley, Hutton le Hole, Pickering and Thornton le Dale ( for amazing ice- cream! ). We had some spectacular drives across the moors to the coast and the younger members of our group had a day in York, which was an easy drive away. We felt the cottages were really good value for money.
stunning
the stay at Beckhouse cottages was excellent a lovely place to stay every one so friendly was sad to leave but will be going back.
Restful and renewing away from the crowds.
We stayed at Stables Cottage. Spotlessly clean and neat with quirky dachshund print bedding lovely! The owners were their usual friendly selves and nothing was too much trouble. The shower needed fixing but was done in 10 mins with no trouble at all. Will be recommending to friends as the beautiful surroundings are a treat and there are many Country Pubs a few miles away too for delicious food. Will definitely be back.
Spring Break
It was really good for us to stay again. The Cottage was really comfortable and close to explore Hutton -le -Hole, Thornton Dale and Danby Forest. The walk through the farm to the riverside was lovely. Thanks to the ‘team’ keeping us COVID safe.Dot and Brian and Millie (our Cocker)
Great stay
We were lucky enough to be able to stay here again. Always clean and warm, which was great as it was very cold and wet outside (it is December). Kitchen was well stocked with enough to prepare a good meal and also a cafetiere - luckily we did bring some ground coffee. They have changed things due to COVID so now it's contactless, with the key in a coded box, and enhanced cleaning.Reassuring in these times.
Warm, cosy cottage in rural North Yorkshire
We have stayed at Beckhouse Cottages before so were happy to be back. We stayed in a different cottage this time, but it didn't disappoint. Very clean, warm and cosy (even if some soft furnishings were removed due to current situation) It was a perfect place to get away to, and take a break to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area and sights.
Peace full retreat
The cottage was very clean and well equipped and location very peaceful as we have been many times over the last 20 years and still is appealing as the first time
FANTASTIC!!!
What a fantastic establishment! Julie and Andrew (the owners) live on site and are extremely "hands on) to provide information and to solve any problems that come to light. They have created cottages with an eye for detail to ensure that tenants have a wonderful holiday. Well done Julie and Andrew plus Nadia the site manager (who ensured that we were welcomed on arrival and looked after in such a friendly manner) Overall, I wish I could give it 10 stars!!
Brilliant

Bringing back lovely memories
We had spent many holidays at Beckhouse Cottages over the years and were so pleased to see it up and running. The owners were welcoming, the cottage comfortable and the our grandson loved the dog, hens and walk down to the river.Perfect for walks in the area and close to many attractions. Our Grandson loves our trip on The North Yorkshire Railway
Excellent
This was our fifth or sixth visit to Beckhouse Cottages over the years and I can honestly say it the most relaxing hideaway ever. It is in easy reach of the coast and e xcellent for walkers. The staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful, we will be returning .
Perfect
A fantastic stay again. This time in Primrose cottage which was a new one for us. Lovely clean cottage with everything we needed. Perfect base for exploring the North York Moors.See you at New Year!
Great Week Away
Had a lovely time fab space for the dogs and lots to do round and about the cottage. Would recommend a visit
Simply a lovely place to stay
Fantastic location, and the cottage itself is far nicer than the photos would have you believe.Especially nice to be able walk within the grounds for a few miles with the dog.Very peaceful despite the number of cottages and so much character. The local New Inn served great beer and good traditional pub grub.Nadja was very welcoming and helpful, and her and her colleagues were so supportive when my wife had an unfortunate accident with the gate.We had been planning a week of hiking but following the accident we still found plenty to do, touring the area and stopping here and there for short walks.I will definitely consider staying again. Thanks again Nadja!
A break from ‘2020’
A wonderful holiday with great hospitality from Andrew, Julie, Nadja and crew. Lots to do on the farm and a great base for days out! Looking forward to our next stay!
